Skills, experience and roles at Manatū Hauora (Ministry of Health)

The skills and experience we’re looking for and our key roles at Manatū Hauora.

We are looking for people who can bring their skills and experience to help us tackle the many challenges facing the New Zealand health system. We need people who :

  • are future focussed
  • act with integrity
  • encourage and support their colleagues.

Transferable skills

One of the ways we decide whether you’d be a good fit for a role is your previous experience in a similar role. But it’s not the only way we decide. We also consider your other experience and whether your transferable skills would make you a good fit.  For example, you could be a good fit for an Executive Assistant role if you have good organisational, communications and coordination skills, you don’t necessarily need to have been an EA before.

Step up to a more senior role

We encourage you to apply for a more senior role. We provide training and support to help you make the step up.
