About us

Tuwharetoa Health is a kaupapa Māori health provider delivering a range of services to the Turangi, Taupo and Mangakino communities. Our vision to improve the health of all those who reside in the rohe of Ngāti Tūwharetoa are guided by the values of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga.

Health and disability services we offer

Tuwharetoa Health provides a comprehensive range of health services from health promotion and public health through to care for the elderly. We have lifestyle interventions including:

  • aukati kaipaipa (smoking cessation)
  • disability support
  • programmes for mental health clients
  • support and advocacy service for whānau
  • nursing services covering the areas of chronic health and child health.

We have recently secured CYFS contracts and appointed a counsellor and social worker. In the interests of whānau ora the CYFS contract is being co-managed by Tuwharetoa Health and Te Korowai Roopu Tautoko. Te Korowai Roopu Tautoko has a long history of social service delivery in Taupo.
