Fluoride

Fluoride is a natural substance that helps protect our teeth by making them stronger and reducing tooth decay.

You can get fluoride by brushing with a fluoride toothpaste and drinking fluoridated water.

However, New Zealand's water supplies have low levels of natural fluoride. Around 50 percent of New Zealanders drink water that has extra fluoride added to it.
