Summary

This booklet offers information about how to operate and maintain a small drinking-water supply. The booklet is intended to be used by people who own or operate an existing small water supply or intend to develop a new one. The objective of this resource is to help water suppliers to:

  • manage the life of equipment
  • meet performance targets for the water supply
  • ensure a reliable supply of safe drinking-water.

Note: In December 2013, legislation changed the term ‘public health risk management plan’ to ‘water safety plan’. Any reference within the text to ‘public health risk management plan’ has been changed to reflect the new legislation. No other changes have been made to this document.
