Cancer treatment

Surgery, radiation treatment and chemotherapy are the main cancer treatment methods.

In New Zealand six regional oncology centres provide medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology services.

These centres are in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Although radiation treatment is only offered at these six centres, chemotherapy and surgical services are offered in most hospitals.
