    The publication presents data extracted from the Mental Health Information National Collection, and covers the year ended 30 June 2008. It shows mental health service use in New Zealand.

    Provides details of how and why consumer information is collected by PRIMHD. It also looks at who uses the information, and the privacy rights of consumers under the Health Information Privacy Act 1993

    This release presents and summarises admissions to hospital for intentional self-harm during 2007, sourced from the New Zealand National Minimum Dataset. The data is provisional.

    This publication is the fifth New Zealand Health Information Service mental health publication to present data from the Mental Health Information National Collection. Data for clients seen by District Health Boards in the 2005 calendar year are presented, including information about client demographics and services provided.

    This Ministry of Health annual report on ECT covers the two reporting periods from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2005. In accordance with the Health Select Committee’s recommendations, it shows statistics for the total number of people who received ECT, plus breakdowns by a number of socio-demographic variables. The report also presents statistics on the number of patients who were treated with ECT under compulsion.

    In September 2004 the Ministry of Health prepared a discussion document to review the availability, quality, role and use of information at all levels within the mental health sector. The summary of submissions was used to develop the structure and key objectives and activities in the National Mental Health Information Strategy.
