The Medical Council of New Zealand is warning health professionals seeking work in New Zealand to be wary of internet scams.

The Medical Council has been notified of a fake website seeking to recruit health professionals to work at a fictitious New Zealand hospital - St Vincent Ranui Hospital, Karori, Wellington.  The Medical Council has notified the New Zealand Police.

The Ministry of Health recommends that any health professional seeking employment in New Zealand should take care that the agency offering them registration to practice medicine in New Zealand is legitimate before any personal details or money changes hands.

In New Zealand, the only agency authorised to provide medical registration is the Medical Council.
